The information was provided by the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Vietnamese Farmers' Pride Program. Accordingly, Bien, 51, has been involved in the profession for over 20 years. After a period of research, she has proactively sourced clam seeds, thereby promoting production on a commercial scale.

Nguyen Thi Bien's family currently has nearly 50 hectares of clam farming. Of which, 45 hectares are for commercial clam farming, and 5 hectares specialize in seed production. In addition to being located in Thanh Hoa province, her facility is located in neighboring localities such as Hai Phong, Thai Binh, and Nam Dinh, expanding the consumption market to the Northern and Central provinces.

Each year, Ms. Bien's clam farming facility provides seeds for ​​over 1,000 hectares, with an output of over 100,000 tons of commercial clams.

Ms. Bien's family creates regular jobs for about 80 local workers, with a monthly VND 8-10 million monthly income. At peak times, her family attracted up to 150 seasonal workers.

According to the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Vietnamese Farmers' Pride Program, Bien's revenue reached VND 150 billion per year, the highest among this year's outstanding farmers; and at the same time, it exceeded VND 10 billion compared to the record in 2023 - Ngo Van De, 46 years old, raising whiteleg shrimp in Tra Vinh province.

Farmer Nguyen Duc Menh, who produces carrots in Cam Giang district, Hai Duong province, is ranked second in revenue this year, with VND 95 billion.

The Organizing Committee said that this year's program has more than 30 farmers out of a total of 144 nominations with a profit of VND 5 billion per year or more. The remaining candidates profit from VND 500 million to VND 4.5 billion annually.

The largest production linkage area belongs to farmer Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Kien Giang province, with 500 hectares. The highest profit belongs to farmer Nguyen Minh Nhu, Ben Tre province, with 20.5 billion VND thanks to the shrimp farming model.

In addition, the country has many eco-tourism and agricultural tourism models owned by farmers. Many candidates have PhDs in biology, engineering, bachelor's, etc., and are looking for investment opportunities in the agricultural sector.

2024 is also the second year that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union has organized to commend 63 typical cooperatives nationwide, established by the associations at all levels, promoted, and guided by the association.

Of which, the two cooperatives with the largest charter capital are: Tan Thanh Agricultural Cooperative, Bac Kan province (VND 12 billion) and Minh Truong Wood Cooperative, Bac Ninh province ( VND 12.5 billion). Some cooperatives with the largest number of members are: Xuan Phuoc Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative, Phu Yen province, with 2,000 members; Thuy Tan Agricultural Cooperative, Thua Thien-Hue province, with 668 members.

Some cooperatives with large revenues are: Long Thanh Phat Agricultural Cooperative, Dong Nai province, with a revenue of more than VND 212 billion per year; Agricultural Cooperative 118, Cao Bang province, with a revenue of VND 100.7 billion from selling silkworm cocoons; Bau Don Fruit Tree Cooperative, Tay Ninh province, with a revenue of VND 132 billion.
