(VAN) The total investment of Hi-tech Agricultural Park for Shrimp Development Project in My Thanh commune (Phu My district, Binh Dinh) is over VND 1,498 billion.

According to Binh Dinh Department of Planning and Investment, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Standing Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, just signed Decision No. 1057/QD-UBND dated 6/4/2023 on approval of the investment policy. He also approved the investment portfolio of projects using the land for the Hi-tech Agricultural Park for Shrimp Development Project in My Thanh commune (Phu My district).

Accordingly, Binh Dinh will form a hi-tech agricultural zone for shrimp development in the coastal area of My Thanh commune (Phu My district). By the second quarter of 2026, all works of the project will be put into operation and go active. These include a shrimp processing factory with a capacity of 20,000 tons of commercial shrimp/year with an export value of USD 256 million; aqua feed factory with a capacity of 100,000 tons/year; complete and put into production a high-tech commercial shrimp farming area with a total commercial shrimp output of 11,450 tons/year; create jobs for 4,000-5,000 people.

In particular, the project also aims to build demonstration models, production and display of biological products, microbial feeds, resistance and cure for shrimp, and drugs for environmental treatment. A commercial trading platform for shrimp and supporting industries will also be promoted.

The total estimated investment of the project is more than VND 1,498 billion, in which the project implementation cost is VND 1,186 billion. The cost of compensation and preliminary site clearance is over VND 312 billion.

The progress of completing the entire project is no more than 3 years from the effective date of the project implementation contract. The project's operation term is 50 years, counting from the date the investor decides to lease the land. The project is favored and supported by Binh Dinh People's Committee according to current regulations.

The People's Committee of Binh Dinh province assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to assume the prime responsibility and coordinate with the Binh Dinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and related agencies in organizing bidding, and selecting investors to comply with the law on bidding.

Binh Dinh's policy of forming a hi-tech agricultural zone is to promote industrialization and modernization of the shrimp farming industry in particular and the province's agricultural sector in general. Forming a hi-tech agricultural zone for shrimp development with high production level, science-technology, modern infrastructure will strongly attract investors and flexibly meet development requirements in the market economy and international integration context.

When put into operation, this will be a hi-tech agricultural zone that is fully invested and built with a synchronous technical infrastructure system suitable to the coastal terrain of Phu My district. At the same time, it is also an area for shrimp seed production, research on farming processes, commercial shrimp production, food processing, shrimp processing, and supporting industries. It is also an area for producing probiotics, preserving and processing, training, receiving, and transferring scientific and technical advances to serve the shrimp industry of Binh Dinh in particular and the central region as well as the whole country in general.

In addition, Binh Dinh's Hi-tech Agricultural Park for Shrimp Industry Development is also a place to organize events, fairs, exhibitions, and demonstrations of technology and high-tech shrimp products. It attracts investment, and high-tech human resources at home and abroad to carry out hi-tech application activities in shrimp development.
